01friction

Simplify the form

Every extra field is a reason to leave. Ask for what you need to start a conversation, not everything you might eventually want.

02speed

Fix page load

Slow, unstable pages lose visitors before they read the offer. A faster page keeps more of the traffic you already paid or worked for.

03clarity

Clarify the offer

If a first-time visitor cannot tell what you do and what to do next within a few seconds, the rest of the page rarely gets read.

About conversion rate.

What is a conversion rate?

The percentage of visitors who complete a wanted action, such as an enquiry, booking, quote request, or purchase. It's conversions divided by total visits, multiplied by 100. See the full conversion rate optimisation guide.

What counts as a good conversion rate?

It depends heavily on industry, traffic source, and what counts as a conversion. The ranges above are general reference points, not a target every site should hit. Cold, broad traffic converts lower than a specific, high-intent search term.

Why is my conversion rate lower than the benchmark?

Usually one of three things: the traffic isn't the right audience, the offer and next step aren't clear quickly enough, or there's unnecessary friction between arrival and completing the action.

How is this different from the CRISP audit?

This calculator only works out a rate from numbers you already have. The CRISP audit scans your actual website and identifies which pages and journeys are likely holding that rate down.
